Nonprofit design subscription

Unlimited design for nonprofits — on a subscription that fits mission budgets.

A month-to-month design subscription built for nonprofits, ministries, foundations, and schools. Unlimited requests, predictable pricing, and a designer who already knows your brand.

Canva handles the quick internal edits. Your subscription designer handles the campaign creative, branded templates, one-pagers, decks, and the higher-craft work your team shouldn't be pulling together at 10 pm.

Predictable monthly cost

One flat fee instead of surprise invoices, rushed freelancer rates, or scope-creep quotes.

Consistent brand output

The same team touches every asset, so your social, email, print, and web all look like the same organization.

Pause when quiet, resume when busy

Nonprofits have seasons. Turn the subscription off between campaigns without losing your designer.

01

What is a design subscription service?

A design subscription service is a flat monthly fee that gives you ongoing access to a design team — instead of paying per project, per hour, or per revision. You submit requests, the team works through them one or two at a time, and deliverables come back on a predictable cadence.

For nonprofits, this replaces three painful patterns at once: scrambling to find a freelancer every time a social graphic is due, waiting weeks for a small agency to squeeze you in, and burning out the one staff member who "does the Canva stuff."

02

How do design subscriptions work, practically?

You pick a plan, get a private request board (Trello, Notion, or a portal), and start submitting requests — a flyer, a report layout, an email header, a donation page banner. Your designer picks up the next task in the queue and returns a first draft, usually within 1–3 business days depending on scope.

Revisions are unlimited but sequential — one active task at a time on most plans, two on higher tiers. Pause any month you don't need work, resume when giving season, an appeal, or an event picks back up.

03

What's included in an unlimited graphic design subscription?

Typical scope covers social graphics, email headers, digital ads, slide decks, one-pagers, flyers, program brochures, event collateral, simple annual-report layouts, brand asset variations, and light illustration or icon work. Source files come with every deliverable.

"Unlimited" refers to requests and revisions, not simultaneous output. Big, strategic work — full brand systems, complete website builds, video production, 60-page annual reports — is usually scoped as a separate project. A good subscription is honest about that line up front.

04

Is Canva free for nonprofits?

Yes — Canva offers a free Canva for Nonprofits plan to eligible registered nonprofits (501(c)(3) in the US, plus equivalents in other countries). It includes Canva Pro features for up to a set number of users. Apply through Canva's nonprofit program with your EIN and verification documents.

Canva is the right tool for a lot of nonprofit work. A design subscription is what you use when Canva templates aren't the bottleneck — designer time is. The two work together: your team keeps producing small assets in Canva, and the subscription team builds the branded templates, one-off campaigns, and higher-craft pieces they'd otherwise wait weeks for.

05

Design subscription vs. hiring an agency or freelancer

Freelancer: lowest cost, best for a single well-scoped project. Falls apart when volume is unpredictable or the freelancer takes on other clients.

Agency project: best for a rebrand or a new website — a fixed scope with a clear deliverable. Wrong shape for the twenty small requests a growing nonprofit generates each month.

Design subscription: best for ongoing volume — giving days, appeals, program launches, event seasons, board decks, and the never-ending stream of one-pagers. Predictable monthly cost, no per-request negotiation, no "can we squeeze this in" emails.

06

What does a nonprofit design subscription typically cost?

Nonprofit-oriented subscriptions typically run $1,500–$4,000 per month depending on turnaround, number of active requests, and whether web/development is included. That's meaningfully less than a mid-level in-house designer once you add benefits, software, and management time — and it flexes.

Creative Lift scopes subscriptions to real nonprofit budgets and real volume. If you only need a designer eight days a month, we say so; we don't sell a tier you won't use.

Common questions

What nonprofits usually ask.

How is a design subscription different from Canva for Nonprofits?
Canva is a tool your team uses. A design subscription is a team that produces work for you. Most nonprofits benefit from both — Canva for quick internal edits and templated assets, a subscription designer for the campaign creative, branded templates, and higher-craft deliverables your staff shouldn't be building at 10 pm.
Is 'unlimited design' actually unlimited?
Unlimited requests and unlimited revisions, yes. Unlimited simultaneous output, no — one active task at a time on standard plans, two on higher tiers. That constraint is what keeps quality up and pricing predictable. Anyone claiming truly unlimited parallel work is either overpriced or over-promising.
What's the turnaround?
1–2 business days for smaller assets (social graphics, email headers, ad variants), 2–4 business days for multi-page pieces (one-pagers, decks, program brochures), longer for anything requiring strategy or approvals. You'll see the queue live and can prioritize.
Do you handle website updates or just graphics?
Both are options. A design-only subscription covers graphics, layout, and brand work. Adding Platform Care covers website updates, small design changes on the site, and technical care. Nonprofits with an existing Creative Lift website usually combine them.
What if I need a full website or a rebrand, not ongoing design?
That's project work, not subscription work. We scope brand systems and website builds as fixed-scope engagements with defined deliverables — many clients then start a subscription after launch to keep the momentum going.
Can we cancel or pause any month?
Yes. Month-to-month by default. Pause with a week's notice — your designer, brand files, and request history stay with your account for when you resume.
Who owns the files?
You do. Source files (Figma, Adobe, PDFs) are handed over with every deliverable and stored in your shared brand library.
